Lead Follow Up Tips

By Jen Boone

Leads are the lifeline of our business. This can be scary especially if you are a new consultant. Leads whether they be party or consultant leads are always exciting. Don't let your leads just sit there. Contact them within 12-24 hours. Most people will pick the consultant that contacts them first. You have to getta 'em while they are HOT!!

Here's what you can do:

Call them within 24 hours. This is a great time to introduce yourself. Often time's people want to associate a name with a voice. This also lets the person know that you are excited to be working with them.

If you get a voicemail...ALWAYS leave a generic message. You have no idea who will be picking up that message. For example, Hi, this is Jen, with jenslife network. I am so excited to be working with you. Please give me a call at your earliest convenience.

After you have contacted the lead by phone, always send an email. The email is a follow up letting them know that you have attempted to contact them by phone.

Follow up, follow up, and follow up. If you haven't heard back from her, call again. People have really busy lives and need to be reminded.

Most important if you cannot get in touch with the lead ALWAYS keep them in your pipeline. You never know when the time is right for people to have a party or become a consultant. Try keeping them on a monthly email list. I had a woman that came to me as a lead; I left messages, sent emails for a year. She finally responded to one of my emails and booked a party. It was my best party yet. Be persistent and consistent, it does pay off.
