The big question to ask when it comes to calendars is what the different is between a calendar made for marketing and one made by a company selling them.
The different can be huge or it can be very minimal, so I can’t give a clear answer. You can easily have a corporate calendar that looks almost identical to a calendar released by a normal company, except that the corporate calendar has the companies name and logo on every page. That might very well be the only thing that makes the free calendar different—well, that and the price.
On the other hand a company can make a calendar that’s filled with various deals and special. Every month provides people with a new coupon or method for saving money, and different days are marked with unique sales that only those who have the calendars are able to capitalize on.
With a method like this you aren’t really giving them the calendar just to tell what the date is, but instead to make sure that they get good savings and that they keep coming back into your store for more.
The time of years that you get calendar printing done may appear to be completely obvious, but there really is some room to work here. Some companies wait to release their calendars until well into December, if not the beginning of January. Other companies might get their calendars out as early as October in order to make sure that people will grab their calendar first.
Both extremes might have advantages, and I would suggest taking a look at when the other companies in your area are releasing their calendars before deciding what will work best for you.
The real question is why exactly do you get calendar printing done. Is it really worth it to take the time to print off these calendars just so you can hand them out for free with your company name on it?
The answer is most certainly yes. The reason is because keeping your name close to a person can be one of the most powerful forms of marketing. This is about making sure people know who you are, and having your name on their very calendar hanging on the wall does wonders to keep your name in their mind.
You don’t want them forgetting about you when they need your services and turning to someone else instead. And the calendars with the special deals in them not only get people to remember, but also gives them additional reasons to come into a store and buy things.
Given that this is a once a year marketing push I would suggest taking the time to see if you can benefit from it. You never know how many sales it can get you until you try using it.
