Maximize Return on Investment in Your Advertising Budget With Promotional Calendars
By Bob Barber
The idea behind advertising and marketing is to get your company information in front of as many people as possible, and to do it as many times as possible. You could hire an advertising company to make some radio or TV ads for you, but be prepared to fork over thousands of dollars a month for their services. Billboards are effective, but the return on investment isn't always ideal because they aren't cheap to rent, either. You could hire some clown (literally and figuratively) to stand in front of your business and try to attract attention to your business, but if most people are like me, that only irritates them.
An Alternative
OK. So you need to get your business information seen by lots of people, but you don't want to spend a fortune doing so. Promotional products are the answer. Promotional calendars specifically. They have been used successfully by businesses for a hundred years. The Union Pacific Railroad is a good example. Their calendars have displayed beautiful photographs of scenery in homes and businesses for as long as I can remember. They wouldn't keep doing it if it wasn't a sound business practice.
Where Do They Go?
Magnetic calendars take that principle one step further. An attractive magnetic calendar can be placed in many spots that your typical paper calendar cannot. Did you ever try to drive a nail into your refrigerator door just to hang a calendar? How about a computer case, or the metal cupboard in the office break room? Nope. It just doesn't work. A magnetic promotional calendar shows up all over.
Why They Are Effective
Now, back to my original premise. Put your business name, address, website address and even a photograph of your or your building on a magnetic promotional calendar. Distribute them to potential customers at a business fair, leave a stack of them in your waiting room or front office, mail them to entire neighborhoods, or have your kids walk along the mall and pass them out to shoppers. When the calendars get home or to the workplace, they are going to find a prominent spot and be seen by everyone in the place. A calendar, by nature, is referred to regularly. Each time it is looked at, the person will also see you business information. Who are they going to call when they need a product or service that you provide? You, of course.
They are inexpensive and effective. Find a good, reliable supplier and have them design a magnetic calendar that will help you expand your business.
