Six Keys to Super Charge Your Creativity in Using Words to Sell

By Elson Tan

1. In cyber-world today, filled with millions of web sites, one of the most effective ways to make you stand out from the crowd is through words. If you are able to create a different from others or in a unique way which no one has thought before, of stringing words together to voice out, transform to powerful message from what you have written then I believe you will definitely be far ahead with other competitors and highly demanded in the market industry. And isn't that what you're trying to achieve? One of the ideas I can share with everybody is that the more in touch you are with your unique idea and creativity; the easier it will be to develop a distinct voice or message because you know that whatever words you use and write, the idea of message will drill people mind and make them unforgettable forever.

2. Showing the different from other people and own a personality style of voice and writing may worth its weight in gold. With that kind of creative sense of work with you, it is allowing your personality to shine through the words you used. If your target audiences like your kind of writing style or voice, chances are, they'll appreciate you at the end of the day. If they appreciate your kind of works, then they'll probably become your customers one day. (or they may circulating your ability and competency to other people, and since then, your reputation start being recognized, those people may become your customers). Again, do remember always, let your creativity as your best partner to help and giving 100% of support to you.

3. Since people always say "A picture is worth a thousand words" (even if you use words to paint or fill the picture with all words), as long as you can describe your products or services in such a way that it forms images that drill to your customers' brain, then you are succeed just because you have created something that will last long enough to recall your customers' mind even after the marketing is over. Words are super power. Think of novels written, why do novels still exist and stay with us for so long? Those "words" we read will draw us into a world of imagination, and those pictures in imagination stay with us long even after we have closed the book. If you can create something that powerful with your marketing materials based on the same concept driven, think about how much advance you are in the ability to deliver amongst your competitors. It is always a good start to try thinking about different ways (such as filling picture with words) to describe your services or products so they're more likely to stay with your customers for a longer period of time.

4. Create some sorts of experience to your customers that they are unforgettable. Such like digital painting pictures, photos or conceptual illustration using; you can also create an entire totally new experience by using words. Again, more of your business will stay with your customers definitely if there are more "real" your marketing materials are to your target market. A big push with branding has been creating an experience. Take it for example, Starbucks and Nike, both of them have done their branding successfully and pretty much well to create their "brand experience". But do remember words are certainly one of the cheaper ways you can do it without much of production cost involved. Think of using your senses is one of the important key beside visual and audio. How does your product smell, taste and feel? (Creativity definitely required.) What will your customers prefer and experience when they choose to use your services or products? What kind of experience do you expect them to have? How can you extend that experience to your marketing materials so that you can full fill your customers' satisfaction and make them to come back to your services or products purchased?

5. Why creative people are creative? One of the reason is because they're able to see and analyze ideas differently from other people. A way to explore your creativity and practice by looking at others successful works as your reference in order helping you to generate fresh and unseen angles for your marketing materials.

6. Understand and connect with your target market. You have to show them how your products or services are something they must have by standing on their side or putting yourself in their situation. And because of that, they will trust and feel like you understand them absolutely. From this point, your creativity may drive in and play the entire role. Envision your target market while you write to them, choosing the words and phrases wisely that will directly speak clear to the point.
